Pongo Power offers many exciting ways to feel
physically fit, increase muscle tone, and correct muscular-skeletal
alignment.
The Basics
Frequency
Cardiovascular Exercise should be performed
3 to 6 times a week. However, research has shown that even one
day of cardiovascular exercise per week provides significant health
benefits.
Your certified personal trainer with meet with
you one to six times per week, depending on your needs: to motivate
and guide you as you achieve your goals.
Type of Exercise
Performing various modalities of exercise
(cardio vascular exercise, walking, jogging, swimming, resistance
training) can reduce overuse injuries and boredom. This is referred
to as Cross Training.
Exercise not only increases muscle tone, balance,
and coordination; it also increases blood circulation to vital
internal organs. Increased circulation helps to rid the body of
toxins and also supplies the cells with oxygen. Exercise leads
to longevity.

The Most Current Cardiovascular
Equipment, including:
- Star Trac Elliptical Machine
- Star Trac Recumbent Stationary Bicycle
You have a choice of weight-bearing or
non-weight baring cardiovascular exercise. Both of these choices
are non-impact modalities. Therefore your joints are protected
from un-necessary over-use that can lead to repetitive stress
injuries.

Training

- 50 lbs. Olympic Barbell for Bench
Press and up to 360 lbs of Weighted Plates
Dumbbells and barbells are also called
“Free Weights.” Using various forms of free weights
during resistance training offers the opportunity to learn about
how your bodies moves, and what patterns
your body exhibits. These patterns are known as kinetic
chain patterns and are often masked by equipment that
you sit on in gyms.

Functional Training
Functional training is resistance training
that prepares your body to engage in real-life activities. Through
learning about how you move – you will identify and correct
old habitual patterns. When you use good proper form and technique
during exercise, you can train your muscles to. Function training
provides your body with the muscle memory needed to lead your
best life possible.
Activities such as: standing
up in the subway, climbing up the subway steps to the street,
picking up your children and grandchildren, bringing the lawn
mower outside, carrying home groceries, putting the kitty litter
in the cat box, swinging a tennis racket, gardening, grouting
the tiles in your bathtub, and climbing up a steep driveway in
the country-side to get to your weekend house; these are all actions
that require flexibility, stability, strength and power.
